1738 Compton Road is no longer home to the beloved Jane Hoop
Elementary School.  All that is left of her is building scrap and
our wonderful memories.  Here are a few "Memories of Hoop" from
our final Spring Ed Fair:

"I remember the blizzard of '77 when school was closed for 2
weeks!"-- Jack Young

"Having to go to art.  Eating lunch, going to play on the
playground and the best thing of all is being with
Miss Tremble.  I love her like a big big sister and a friend.
and going to music..."--Kayla room 15

"Teaching Kindergarten here at Jane Hoop 1971-1974 was a
wonderful experience.  Teaching with Kathy Brown and
later Diana Brown was fun every day."--Margie Martin Wilson

"My favorite memory is when I first started coming here."
--Khairi

"My favorite memory from Jane Hoop is 100 day in second
grade."--Arian

"I remember playing on the monkey bars and also going
to the zoo on a class trip.  I remember in first grade in
art class I painted the sky green and the grass blue.
Also, I remember the important job of taking the
attendance slip over to the principal, Mr. Muskajch,
in the Grace Hunt Building.  And also, kids eating
paste. (not me!)"--Cindy Jones

"My memories at Jane Hoop are the best. I'm going to
miss it.  I really love early years. Bye Jane Hoop!!
--Amber

"When I first came to Jane Hoop in the third grade.  Thank
you Mrs. Fisher for making it the best 1st year at Hoop!
--Kourtnie

"My favorite thing about Jane Hoop is when we all made a
giant H. --Jordan

"My favorite thing we have done at Jane Hoop is sewing
Christmas Stockings to stuff and send to soldiers
overseas." --Mrs. Shiplett 1999-2010

"I always remember the Hoop picnics. What fun!
--Kathy McCllelland

"My first teaching job! I love Jane Hoop!"-Mrs. B

"My favorite memory at Jane Hoop Elementary
is the annual Taste of Hoop!"-Shana Burg

"I attended school here at Jane Hoop from 1971-1978 and
graduated form Mt. Healthy High (3rd Generation).  My
kids will be the 4th generation.  My favorite memory is that
each year in the spring we would all write notes and
put them in a balloon.  We would release the balloons
all at once.  We would get responses from as far away
as Utah."--Sherri Lauson

"My favorite memory is the first day I came."-Bryan

"Kids here 1989-90's
Too many good memories to fit on this page.  2 children
of mine-Nathan and Carri Burgjohann-attended here all their
elem. years.  I was homeroom mom for some of those years.
My kids walked to and from school-some days riding with
neighbors.  It is fun to remenice during these last
days of Jane Hoop.  We will treasure our thoughts-watch
in July as the bricks tumble."-Lori Burgjohann
